Valley of Flowers - The most beautiful valley in India

Have you ever wondered how the heaven looks like ? How about a valley covered by different varieties of flowers.  How about a river , mountains and few friends ? Life is never going to be easy. But after such a hard work what you get is a sweet result.

Valley of flowers reminded me the climax scene of Gladiator. After watching that movie I used to picturize the heaven as a place covered by paddy fields surrounded by hills. Same kind of place is valley of flowers. Out of all the places I have visited till date, this is a quite different place. This is made for the people who want to heal their pain. Close your eyes and concentrate on the chirping sounds of the birds. That's the reason this unique valley, not less than the heaven finds mention in many literary works. Also this natural valley is one among the heritage sites in India. By completing this trek I was one step towards covering all the Unesco heritage centres in India.

Unpredictable rain and weather conditions had put our visit to valley of flowers in jeopardy. But we were very lucky to visit the place. I could say the place gives justice to the hype surrounding it. The place is also mentioned in the Mahabharata ending where Pandavas will go for pilgrimage leaving all the earthly pleasure.

The feel of entering this valley cannot be expressed in words. I could close my eyes and feel the wind speed. The most fun thing you can do is finding out varieties of flowers. Naren was very good in finding out different kinds of flowers. Suri was also eager to find out the different kinds of flowers.

Before visiting this valley I had not done enough research on the places to visit during the trek. That's the reason I had not enough information on the flowers found in this place.

Flowers found in the valley :

Fern Leaf Milk Parsley

Himalayan Cinquefoil

Canterbury bells

Himalayan Fleabane

Blue poppy

Jadwar

Ligularia Amplexicaulis
Shangri La Blossom

Taraxacum officinale

Some people were lost in finding out flowers, some were lost in a different world. We met a lady from Bengaluru with whom we shared our food. Nobody was willing to leave the river point where we spent nearly an hour. Life never gives you an opportunity to visit such a beautiful place so easily. When you visit a place you have to make it count.

Valley of flowers will remain as one of the most beautiful place I have visited. Sometimes I dream about crossing this river and crossing Nanda Devi national park. Some dreams will be fulfilled and some will make us to dream more. Valley of flowers belongs to the latter.

As I said words are not enough, let the imagination of the reader blossom and one day let them reach their destination.
