Here are some of the treks I have done. I have done treks in 10 states in India and 6 countries.
1.
Trek to ombattu gudda
No other place is like this. Getting permission to place itself is a treat. One of the dream trek for many trekkers. Known as a dangerous and wildest trek in Karnataka, this has two routes. We have trekked from the Mudigere side. The toughest one is from Gundya side which is covered by thick forest.
2.
Trek to monolithic hill Madhugiri
| The second biggest monolithic hill in the world, Madhugiri hill is a treat to watch. It has a beautiful view from the top. If you are in Bangalore try to try this small trek. Try avoiding during the rainy season. Summer, it will be very hot. The best time to do this trek is during post-monsoon.
3.
Kodachadri trek - most beautiful sunset
| Most beautiful trek in Karnataka. Though easy, the trek is covered with scenic surroundings and can witness both sunset and sunrise from the peak. We were able to see the beautiful sunset, but we couldn't enjoy the sunrise due to the cloud. This remains the most planned trek of Nomads.
4.
Kabal Durga - a night trek to be remembered.
| One of the best night trek you can do around Bangalore. One of the best-planned trek of nomads and we enjoyed thoroughly. Sunrise was amazing and the dosa in aduge mane was delicious. |
5.
Kunti Betta - First nighttrek of Nomads
| First night trek for our group Nomads. Probably the best night trek destination around Bengaluru after Skandagiri. Easy trek but the view from the top is majestic beauty. |
6.
Burude falls - Unchalli falls
| Definitely, the finest trek I had in Karnataka. The stay near the river is one of the finest experiences. Burude falls and Unchalli falls both are beautiful waterfalls near Siddapur. The trek path included Jeep track, paddy fields, forest region, river, and the waterfalls. |
7.
Dabbe falls and Kanooru kote
| This trek is quite similar to most of the trek to waterfalls. Jeep track, forest, and waterfalls. The beauty of this trek is it took us to the Kanooru fort.
8.
Kudremukha
9.
Doodh Sagar
| When Mungaru Male movie came, it showed us the other side of Jog falls to the tourists, who were already amazed at the beauty of Jog falls. The same happened to Doodhsagar after Maina, a Kannada movie came followed by Chennai Express. Even before these movies released, I had a dream to visit this amazing place. It all started when I read an article about Doodh Sagar, way back in 2007 and it took me 7 years to make it possible. It was a dream come true for me when I along with two of my friends, visited the Doodh Sagar on 20th September 2014.
10.
Kumara Parvatha
| Kumara Parvata was one of the most memorable treks organized by me. Kumara Parvata is the 3rd highest peak in Karnataka. It belongs to Somawarpet taluk of Kodagu or Coorg. There is 2 entrance to the peak: one from beedahalli via heggademane temple and another from Kukke Subramanya via Girigadde. There will be always discussion on which route is the difficult route. But according to me from Kukke Subramanya it is quite a difficult route and it is around a 14 km trek route. That is the reason why we chose this route.
11.
Tadiandamoola Trek
| Tadiandamoola peak is the third highest peak in Karnataka and the highest peak in Kodagu. When we landed in Kakabbe near the Tadiandamoola trek point, it was 4 AM. It was 5-6 Km walk from the bus stop to the trek starting point. On the way, we had tea and Maggi in a small hotel. We also ordered food for lunch in the same hotel.
12.
Narasimha Parvata
13.
Mullayyanagiri Trek
| The downpour and western ghats have an extraordinary holding. Trekking in a downpour is an alternate affair. On the off chance that you are trekking to the most elevated mountain in Karnataka, it will be a substantially more excellent experience. Mullayyanagiri is a standout amongst the most delightful places in Karnataka. At a height of 1930 meters, it is likewise one of the most noteworthy crests in western ghats. With such a lovely spot around, it took over 5 years to reach here.
14.
Lohagad Trek
| We thought of going to Lonavala and then starting the trek. But luckily we were helped by a local. We missed the 7 AM train to Lonavala. So we went for breakfast in a small tea shop. We had vada pav and tea. The owner of the tea shop gave detailed information about the surrounding. Then we got to know Lohagad is only 6 km from Malvali. The best part about our conversation is his English. He spoke fluent English. When we meet people like him, we will get to know life is all about learning.
15.
Trekking in Gavi
Trekking in Gavi was one of the highlights of our trip. A forest guard accompanied us since there are chances of wild animals encounter. We saw wild bison on the way to the peak. The rain and the green surrounding made this trek more beautiful. You must be a good observer to explore different kinds of birds. It's a heaven for the photographers.
16.
Sandur Trek
| While discussing different treks within Karnataka, we got to know Sandur trek from one of our trek organizers Jagdeesh. Ballary is a very dry place. Within this district, there is a hidden treasure Sandur which is little green during the monsoon. It has also been a house for wild bears. So we have to be very careful while going for this trek. Going with a local guide is a good option always.
17.
Skandagiri Sunrise Trek
| Skandagiri is near to Nandi Hills and Muddenahalli. It was banned for a few years because of some bad incidents. After eco-tourism came into existence, it was opened for the sunrise trek. If we can behave responsibly nature lovers can enjoy these kinds of beautiful places. But we have to ensure no plastic inside the trekking premises. Not just trekking premises, any tourist place should not allow plastic wastages. Keeping these premises clean is our responsibility.
