Badrinath, the gateway to Neelakanth

Some places in the world are divine. I would like to see those places less crowded and with less human interference. They are the places people like to visit atleast once in a lifetime like the few of the places in the himalayas. There is no doubt why these places are called holy places. So that the we the humans should not destroy the beautiful nature here. Badrinath is one such place you have to visit atleast once in a lifetime.

Badrinath is one among the chardam which people considered the holiest place in India. With the beautiful surrounding you would also feel the same. It attracts lot of trekkers because this is gateway to one of the beautiful mountain Neelkanth. Though we heard a lot about the Neelakanth we couldn't visit the mountain.

Badrinath is famous for the Badrinath temple which attracts lakhs of people here. One which took our attention during our temple visit was hot springs. Temple was very much peaceful since there were less people because of landslide.

The highlight of Badrinath is trek to Neelkanta hill. If you don't have much time , then you can visit Charan Paduka which is on the way to Neelakanth.  Charan Paduka has footprints of lord vishnu. At 3380 feet elevation, this place attracts lot of tourists all around the world. According to mythology, the Uddhav, minister of lord Krishna took this imprint to get rid of his wrong doing.

If you visit Charan Paduka , don't go just for Charan Paduka , trek further to see much more beautiful view of nature.

Isn't it beautiful ? If I have to choose between the mountains of Himachal Pradesh and mountains in Uttarakhand , it is tough to choose but I would definitely choose the latter, not for the trek but for the peace of mind it gives. After Auli, Hemakund Saheb , Valley Of flowers I was not expecting similar experience. But Utarakhand might give you more surprises when you visit.

We also visited the Mana village which is last village in the border which has many historical connection. It is popularly famous for the visibility of Saraswati river. People say from here it goes underground and joins Ganges and Yamuna in Prayag. Here there is also cave temple from where Lord Veda Vyasa wrote Mahabharatha with the help of Lord Ganapathi. You can also see the hand prints of Bhim which is also called as Bhimpul.

If you are in Mana village don't miss to have a tea in the tea shop which has announcement in various languages including Kannada. Visiting this tea shop has become more important for travellers than visiting Saraswati river.

With the team I had, with the mythological information I had got, with the varieties of places I have visited, Badrinath still remains in my heart. When the deep cloud appears on the sky, I wish could send message to the place that I want to come back again.
